Bayern Munich crashed to their first Bundesliga defeat under their new manager, Niko Kovac, as they were beaten 2-0 by Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion. First-half goals by Vedad Ibisevic and Ondrej Duda stunned the league leaders as Hertha held off a second-half fightback to move level on points with their opponents.
Bayern, unbeaten in the last 14 games against their hosts, looked to settle quickly but Hertha made a brighter start when Salomon Kalou and Ibisevic combined well before Jérôme Boateng cleared the danger.
